Constellation 01: The Envelope — Between Utility and Artwork
August 24-28, 2026
Among the mail art contributions received for RETROFIT, envelopes appear in various formats — from the small envelope to the A4 document envelope.
The envelopes show varying degrees of integration into the artistic work: from a mere means of shipping, through the envelope individualized by addressing, postage stamp, or mail art stamp, to the deliberately designed component of the artwork itself.
Constellation 01 brings together these different manifestations of the envelope between postal function and artistic design.
